Moscow Ballet Audition Director and Soloist Lana Popova

Svetlana (Lana) Popova returns this year as a Moscow Ballet Audition Director and Soloist. Lana had an interested in choreography, painting and music at a young age, even staging her first theatrical performances for her family when she was five years old. Now, she is a professional ballerina and choreographer as well as the director of cultural events, theatrical performances and festivals and a teacher of special disciplines in the specialty of pedagogy of additional education. She owns her own choreographic workshop called "Lana Ballet" in Moscow and her students have repeatedly become laureates and winners of the Grand Prix of International competitions and festivals. Recently, she became a member of CID-International Dance Council-UNESCO. Lana graduated from Moscow Ballet School at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Moscow Music School and Moscow Institute of Contemporary Art’s Department of Directing Show Programs. In order to improve her professional level and pedagogical growth, she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in ballet pedagogy at the Moscow Institute of Modern Art.
Lana has performed in 37 countries and spent time performing with the State Academic Bolshoi Theater, Moscow Academic Musical Theater Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko, Children's Music and Drama Theatre "From A to Z". She has also worked with leading theaters and ballet companies including Russian National Ballet Theatre, The Theater of Russian Ballet Talarium et Lux, Russian Ballet Theatre by Anna Grogol-Alexidze, The Moscow Theatre The Crown of Russian ballet and Theatre of Russian Ballet Moskovia. Lana is a diploma winner of numerous International competitions and festivals. She has diplomas and medals, as well as the State award of the Moscow State Duma for her great contribution to the development of classical ballet in the capital of the Russian Federation, Moscow. Upon successful completion of training, she was accepted into classical ballet company Chamber of the State theatre "Ballet "Moscow" as the artist of the ballet higher category. Her other awards and honors include: Grand Prix in the category “Classical dance, solo” at Volnafest, an international festival performance of choreographic art and an award for the achievements in the field of choreographic art, a great contribution to the development of creative potential of children, the desire to develop and expand the world of children and youth creativity, the motivation of children and young people to engage in art. She is also the author of more than 50 scenarios of theatrical performances, shows and festivals. Now she puts on ballets, musicals, music and drama performances, organize festivals and holidays. She works with both professionals and amateurs, adults and children of all ages.
