Alina Bormotova hails from Kiev Ukraine and is a graduate of the Kyiv State Ballet School Dance Academy named after Serge Lifar, known as the third best ballet academy in the world, only after the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Academies. She is also a graduate of the Kyiv National University of Theater, Cinema & Television named after I. Karpenko-Karui. 2016 is her first year with Moscow Ballet as soloist and Audition Director.
Alina is a Laureate of the prestigious Serge Lifar Ballet Competition in Kyiv (named after the famed Serge Lifar who was a world renowned Ukrainian ballet dancer and choreographer, famous as one of the greatest male ballet dancers of the 20th century) the Terpsichore International Dance Festival of Galicia in Lviv and received the Kiev “Dance without Borders” diploma. Her extensive training and performance experience includes roles in all the ballet classics and then some including Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Chopiniana, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Bolero, Giselle, Coppelia, Carmina Burana, and more.
Alina is multi-faceted and loves to travel. In addition to being a ballerina she worked on an animation team in Turkey for a year and most recently lived in St Petersburg, Russia and worked behind the scenes on a ballet performance there. Alina speaks English, Italian, Russian, and Ukrainian.
