Moscow Ballet’s Usual Venue In Vancouver: The Queen Elizabeth Theatre

This year Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker is streaming in Vancouver, directly to your living room! In a regular year Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker is performed at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in downtown Vancouver, one of Canada’s largest proscenium theatres with 2,765 seats. Refurbished in 2009, the theatre hosts opera, Broadway, music, presentations, and a broad spectrum of entertainment shows. Located downtown the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and the Salons are ideal for meetings, pre and post show receptions, and small parties. Bright with hardwood floors and large windows, the Salons have a separate entrance for private gatherings. Outside the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, the Queen Elizabeth Plaza hosts many outdoor performances and festivals.

Past Vancouver Ballet Partnership: Grand Ballet Vancouver

Nutcracker wouldn’t be Nutcracker without the local Children’s cast! Dancing along side the full professional Russian cast are local Vancouver children from Grand Ballet Vancouver. Grand Ballet Vancouver is founded on the following principals: Teach dancers to express their inner beauty through movement, develop self –confidence through bodily expression and presentation, unlock the potential of young dancers to become professional dancers, promote beautiful body posture and discover the virtues of the soul through graceful expression. Students of the school’s artistic director, Yeu-Jung Lee, are currently dancing at various world-renowned companies such as the American Ballet Theatre, Stuttgart Ballet, Houston Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Korean National Ballet, Universal Ballet, Columbia Classical Ballet, John Cranko Ballet School, and Bolshoi Ballet Academy.
