About the Sarasota Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall

Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall was built in 1968, opening its doors two years later with a production of Fiddler on the Roof. It has also long presented Broadway musicals, a variety of national and international performers, world-class symphony orchestras, and a mix of classical, modern, and ethnic dance performances. The theater also offers educational and outreach programs for the local community. Among those soon to grace the Van Wezel stage are Dolly Parton, K.D. Lang, the New York Pops, and the traveling production of Shrek: The Musical.
