(Berkshires, MA) September 12, 2017 – Ballet Students ages 6 to 18 are invited to audition from now through October 31 for one of Moscow Ballet’s Soloist/Audition Directors at designated Host Dance Studios in 120 cities from coast to coast, including Canada. The Moscow Ballet Dance-with-Us program, which holds open auditions for local students with a minimum one year of ballet training, is in its 25th year of putting student dancers on stage side-by-side with the professional company in each tour city. Successful auditionees perform in the Great Russian Nutcracker in ancillary roles that were created exclusively for their age and skill levels such as Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Snow Maidens and more. This is often a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the aspiring dancers. Auditions are free, there is sometimes a casting fee of $50. Children’s costumes are provided at no cost. The 7 Moscow Ballet Audition Directors/Ballerinas are award winning, highly skilled ballerinas who also lead the young dancers at dress rehearsal in their city with the full Russian company on the day of the performance. They are:
Dance-with-Us is the Moscow Ballet education program which has brought over 100,000 (about 5000 per year) North American student dancers on stage to perform side-by-side with the company of 40 Russian professionals since 1994.
