Maria Morari

page-1-image-1Maria Morari premieres with Moscow Ballet on the 2017 25th Anniversary Tour of North America. She started her professional career as a ballerina at the National Theatre for Ballet and Opera in Chișinău, the capitol city of Moldova. She has toured around the world performing the classic Russian ballet repertoire including Swan Lake, Giselle, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Don Quixote, Spartacus, Chippolino, Coppelia, Romeo and Juliet and the Great Russian Nutcracker.From Moscow, she worked with Gedeminas Taranda in the Imperial Russian Ballet Company, which toured in China and all of Europe. Maria toured with Marina Medvetskaya’s company from Saint Petersburg throughout the United Kingdom. And she performed with the Moldovan National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in "Maria Biesu" which toured to Canada, Germany and Spain. Just 21 years old, Maria has dedicated almost all of her young years to ballet, and she is aware that only with small steps can one reach the big successes. After college Maria worked with children teaching aesthetic gymnastics and ballet in parallel with working in the theater. In a recent interview, Maria speaks about, "In the ballet, the body is our instrument of work. Actually, the ballet chose me, not the other way around. Since 5 years old I have performed ballet in combination with gymnastics. I was proud to be among the most talented children at the National College of Choreography. And, “The main purpose of the ballet is to show that it is easy. If a ballerina manages to create this impression, then she denotes professionalism. The ballet is a total body operation.”
