Moscow Ballet Brings Great Russian Nutcracker back to North Charleston!


Moscow Ballet’s celebrated Great Russian Nutcracker will be at North Charleston's Performing Arts Center on Thursday, December 26th at 3:00 & 7:30 PM.

altThe company of 40, comprised of award-winning principals and corps de ballet, perform Olympic-worthy leaps, lifts and pirouettes in the classic holiday ballet.  To the delight of audiences of all ages, the artists bring humor, charm, athletic prowess and Russian flair to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score. Celebrate the beauty of the holidays and the best of Russian ballet in Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker!

North Charleston Area Student Dancers to Join Moscow Ballet Russians on Stage in December!


North Charleston area youth will be selected to perform alongside 40 Moscow Ballet professionals in the Great cast-list-2Russian Nutcracker at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in late December!

Magnolia Dance Academy will again be the host studio for Moscow Ballet's Student Program. Moscow Ballet Soloist will serve as Audition and Rehearsal Director.

Every year since 1993, Moscow Ballet has engaged local ballet students and host studios in cities on the North American tour, offering them the most unusual opportunity of auditioning, rehearsing, and performing in a professional setting. Children ages 7 to 16, under 5”2” and with some ballet training are eligible to audition.

North Charleston Performing Arts Center was opened in 1999 at the North Charleston Coliseum, as a multi-purpose venue. It hosts concerts, theater and dance productions, sporting events, family shows, and more. The North Charleston Performing Arts Center is the largest entertainment venue in the "low country."

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Raising funds for children’s hospitals through hospital visits,
photo opps & proceeds from tickets to Great Russian Nutcracker!

 

New in 2012, Moscow Ballet is proud to support and partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), the leading supporter of children's hospitals nationwide, in raising funds to benefit young patients. In select cities (listed above), a portion of ticket sales from Moscow Ballet's 20th anniversary Great Russian Nutcracker production will go to CMNH facilities.

Moscow Ballet ballerinas Svetlana Todinova, Natalia Miroshnyk, and Olga Aru continue to visit CMNH facilities across the U.S. to meet with young patients and their families. Among these recent events was a meet-and-greet and photo shoot with international superstars Donny and Marie Osmond (founder of CMNH) and Moscow Ballet's Svetlana Todinova in Las Vegas!

Another fundraising event is the North American Russian Tea Party and Auction on November 10 with Moscow Ballet dancers and others at the exclusive Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas TX, which benefits the Dallas Children’s Medical Center.
