The experience of working and performing with professional ballerinas is often a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring dancers. Former Somerville NJ Gotta Dance student Hillary-Marie Michael, now director of Jersey Tap Fest, says, “From start to finish … it is an excellent way for dancers to understand both the discipline and fun involved in a professional ballet production.”

Heart of Dance was established in 1965 and is operated by Vicki Oliver-Baker. Heart of Dance was the host school for Moscow Ballet student dancers in Montgomery during the 2012 20th Anniversary tour and administered about 100 student dancers representing many dance studios in the greater Montgomery area. Moscow Ballet Resident Costume Designer Arthur Oliver, who traveled to Russia to oversee the creation of 200 new costumes for the 20th Anniversary production, is Ms. Oliver-Baker’s son and former costumer for Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
