Moscow Ballet Returns to Lake Charles with Great Russian Nutcracker!

Moscow Ballet announces auditions for local student dancers to perform beside the pros in Great Russian Nutcracker!

alt Moscow Ballet announces final open auditions on Sat, Aug 22, 2:00pm for local student dancers, boys and girls, ages 7 to 16 years and led by Moscow Ballet soloist Zhanna Gobulenko. Selected children will perform beside the professional company in the Great Russian Nutcrackeron Saturday, November 14 at Rosa Hart Theatre.The auditions will be at Moscow Ballet local host dance studio Sarah Quinn Jones School of Ballet, 1920 Ethel Street, Lake Charles 70601.

Student dancers must have at least one year of ballet training, dress in dance attire and may bring Pointe shoes. Moscow Ballet’s “Dance with Us” program, in its 23 year, selects student dancers to perform ancillary roles of Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Angels, and more. Audition Director Zhanna Gobulneko will be in town for several days to lead the audition and to rehearse the selected student dancers. “The true highlight of the night was seeing all the Calgary children who... should be congratulated for their very skilled and enthusiastic participation. Sarah Quinn Jones School of Ballet  offers classical ballet training for boys and girls ages three and up. Students learn classical ballet technique through enjoyable and instructive classes. The studio also offers creative movement classes for preschoolers and tap classes for student ages five and up. Students display what they have learned each year in the annual Spring Recital. The studio is a place where boys and girls can learn classical ballet in an enjoyable in instructive way. Ms. Sarah not only teaches students how to dance but also how to be committed and part of a team. The preschool class is all about fun and as the students grow up the classes focus more on developing the dancers' technique. Class sizes allow for each student to receive personal instruction.
