Moscow Ballet Returns to Lake Charles with Great Russian Nutcracker!

altMoscow Ballet’s celebrated Great Russian Nutcracker will be at the Rosa Hart Theatre located at the Lake Charles Civic Center on Friday, December 27th at 7:00 pm.

The holiday favorite dramatizes the traditional story of Masha meeting her “Prince” and, exclusive to Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker, adds a tribute to world peace as well.  The “Dove of Peace,” for which 2 dancers become one bird with a 20 foot wingspan, escorts Masha and Prince to the “Land of Peace and Harmony.”Celebrate the beauty of the holidays and the best of Russian ballet in Moscow Ballet’sGreat Russian Nutcracker!

Open Auditions Saturday, Oct. 12th for Dance Students in Lake Charles, LA!

altMoscow Ballet announces open auditions on Saturday, Oct. 12th at 10 AM for student dancers ages 7 to 16 years at Sarah Quinn Jones School of Ballet, 1920 Ethyl St., Lake Charles, LA 70601. Moscow Ballet’s “Dance with Us” Audition Director Ekaterina Uksusnikova will be present to select 60 dancers to perform as Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Angels, and many more roles in the Great Russian Nutcracker on December 27 at 7 pm at the Rosa Hart Theatre in Lake Charles. Applicants must have at least one year of ballet training, dress in dance attire and may bring Pointe shoes.

The experience of working and performing with professional ballerinas is often a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring dancers. Former Somerville NJ Gotta Dance student Hillary-Marie Michael, now director of Jersey Tap Fest, says, “From start to finish … it is an excellent way for dancers to understand both the discipline and fun involved in a professional ballet production.”Register at .

Sarah Quinn Jones School of Ballet  offers classical ballet training for boys and girls ages three and up. Students learn classical ballet technique through enjoyable and instructive classes. The studio also offers creative movement classes for preschoolers and tap classes for student ages five and up. Students display what they have learned each year in the annual Spring Recital. The studio is a place where boys and girls can learn classical ballet in an enjoyable in instructive way. Ms. Sarah not only teaches students how to dance but also how to be committed and part of a team. The preschool class is all about fun and as the students grow up the classes focus more on developing the dancers' technique. Class sizes allow for each student to receive personal instruction.
