"Staggeringly lovely."

altThe Avalon Theatre was constructed in 1923 by local area publishing giant Walter Walker, and remains one of the state's largest performing arts venues. It has welcomed a variety of performers and productions throughout the years, including Al Jolson, Ethel Barrymore, John Philip Sousa, and Pat Benetar; it also now hosts foreign and independent films, dance and theatrical productions, and private functions.

In more recent years, many aspects of the historic Avalon have been restored to their original splendor, such as the building’s façade and lobby area.
