Moscow Ballet’s company of almost 40 dancers is the only internationally touring ballet group to perform to critical acclaim in over 75 North American cities annually. The renowned, award-winning principal dancers and corps de ballet thrill audiences with their expertise, dramatic expression and stunning leaps, drops and turns. The production is known for its dedication to world peace placing Act II in the “Land of Peace and Harmony,” featuring a cannon that shoots roses and a stunning 2-dancer “Dove of Peace” with a 20’ wingspan. Moscow Ballet announces auditions for local student dancers to perform beside the pros in Great Russian Nutcracker!


Moscow Ballet announces open auditions on Sat, Sept 26th, 1:00pm for local student dancers, boys and girls, ages 7 to 16 years. Selected children will perform beside the professional company in the Great Russian Nutcrackeron Dec 29 at the Barbara B Mann Performing Arts Hall.The auditions will be at Moscow Ballet local host dance studio Angelic Academy of Dance and Fine Arts, 27771 Tennessee St, Bonita Springs, FL 34135.

Student dancers must have at least one year of ballet training, dress in dance attire and may bring Pointe shoes. Moscow Ballet’s “Dance with Us” program, in its 23rd year, selects student dancers to perform ancillary roles of Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Angels, and more. Audition Director Zhanna Golubenko will be in town for several days to lead the audition and to rehearse the selected student dancers. “The true highlight of the night was seeing all the Calgary children who... should be congratulated for their very skilled and enthusiastic participation. Angelic Academy offers students dance and various forms of performing arts providing fun and rewarding activities and helping students grow as individuals. Instructors provide positive reinforcement to help students develop their talents. Owner Lara Demetriades has a life-long passion for the arts and studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, tap, baton, vocal, drama and modeling. She has over 40 years of performing, directing and teaching experience and has directed many award winning teams, soloists and title winners at regional, national and international levels. At Angelic Academy there are programs and classes for all ages and levels and the staff is trained to use positive reinforcement along with correct technique to bring out the best in each student.

The Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall is located on the campus of Edison State College. It regularly hosts college and community events, as well as theater and dance productions, concerts, and more. The Hall is also home to the annual Edison Pops Concert Series.
