The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center opened in 1930 as both a modern film house and a stage production venue. Commonly referred to as "The Showplace of the Southwest," the Plaza was once the largest theater between Dallas and Los Angeles.

It boasts elaborate architecture and decor, and has hosted concerts, stage shows, and movies. The Plaza will soon feature such acts as the Blue Man Group, B.B. King, and the Broadway production of West Side Story.
