Moscow Ballet’s award-winning dancers bring the holiday season to life in Columbia, MO!

Exclusive to the Great Russian Nutcracker is the stunning Dove of Peace, with 20ft wingspan, and created by 2 dancers moving as one; Russian folk legends Father Christmas/Ded Moroz and Snow Maiden/Snegurochka who escort Masha and Nutcracker Prince to the Land of Peace and Harmony; life-sized Matrushka Dolls; and whimsical 10ft tall silk puppets. New in 2014 is an authentic Russian Christmas puppet play and Masha’s magical Toy Cabinet. Wearing intricately detailed costumes, many with shimmering Swarovski crystals, the award-winning principal dancers and corps de ballet bring Tchaikovsky’s master score and the holiday season to life!

"The corps dancers are striking to see."

altTownship Auditorium was constructed in 1930 and is a great example of Georgian Revival architecture. The theater has hosted a variety of events, such as concerts, boxing matches, political rallies, theatrical productions, and more. Upcoming events and performances include Merle Haggard, the annual Columbia Blues Festival, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Known as the "community auditorium," the Township has undergone renovations in recent years to bring it back to its original splendor, before the building's slow decline over several decades. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
