Local Audition Information Coming Soon for Moscow  Ballet's 2015 Performances!

About 60 student dancers will be selected to perform side-by-side with the professional company of 40 Russian dancers. Students are cast in ancillary roles of Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Angels, and more. Moscow Ballet Soloist and  Audition Director Carolina Siscanu will be in Asheville Sept 30 to Oct 3 to rehearse and work hands-on with the local student dancers. They will perform in the Great Russian Nutcracker Wed, Dec 10, 7:00pm at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium at the US Cellular Center. Moscow Ballet is pleased to work with Center Stage Dance Studio to make the open audition, rehearsals and performances possible.  Applicants must be between 7 and 16 years old, have at least one year of ballet training, dress in dance attire and may bring Pointe shoes. The experience of working and performing with professional ballerinas is often a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring dancers. “The payoff at the end of the rehearsals is the opportunity to be part of Christmas magic, to dance under shimmering lights with award-winning Russian dancers against exquisite hand-painted sets. It’s great for the kids. They get to dance in a professional production,” affirms Margaret Engle of Charlottesville Ballet School.

Center Stage Dance Studio has been ‘dancing” since 1979 and offers classes in a variety of styles for children ages 3 to 18. It is Western North Carolina’s top rated dance facility and is unique among dance studios in the area; all faculty hold degrees in dance or early childhood education, have danced with a professional company or maintain membership in Dance Masters of America. Founder Michele Lee remains committed to offering the highest quality dance education to students. The success of Center Stage lies in maintaining positive relationships with students and forming a life-long love of dance.  Many former students now bring their children to Center Stage!

Dec, 2014 - Great Russian Nutcracker

I just wanted to say that the performance I saw in Dec 2014 in Asheville NC was the highlight of my Christmas celebration, the best gift of all. I was "enchanted" with it. Thanks for all your hard work.
