Announcing Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker returning to Wichita at Orpheum Theatre on November 20 ~ Tickets On Sale Now.

The one and only Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker will be returning to Wichita on Monday, November 20, 7:00 pm at Orpheum Theatre.

All ages are invited to celebrate Christmas with the Moscow Ballet company of almost 40 ballerinas and danseurs on their 25th Anniversary Tour of North America in 2017. Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker is known for its award-winning Principal Dancers, lavish costumes in the style of the Victorian era, many backdrops created by “La La Land’ Set Concept designer Carl Sprague, and its Russian focus including life-sized Matryoshka Dolls, Russian folk legends Ded Moroz (Father Christmas) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) and Troika Sleigh. Adults and children enjoy the special effects of the flapping winged owl on the Grandfather clock, the growing 50 ft tall Christmas Tree, the Dove of Peace with a 20ft wingspan, and of course, the leaps, spins, and extraordinary moves of the company all performed to Tchaikovsky’s complete and incomparable score.

Wichita Area Ballet Students Called to Audition for Moscow Ballet’s Mariia Skoruk and Romana Dumanska on August 28 at Host Studio Andover Dance Academy

Wichita area ballet students ages 7 to 17 are invited to audition on Monday, August 28, 5:30 pm for Moscow Ballet Soloists and Audition Directors Mariia Skoruk and Romana Dumanska at Host Dance Studio Andover Dance Academy, 742 N. Andover Rd. Suite 7, Andover, KS 67002. 

This Moscow Ballet audition is open to students from dance studios across the city with a minimum one year of ballet training. Successful auditionees perform side-by-side with the Moscow Ballet company in roles which were created exclusively for their age and skill levels such as Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Snow Maidens and more. Ballerinas Mariia Skoruk and Romana Dumanska will lead the young dancers at dress rehearsal with the Russian company the day of the performance. This is often a once-in-a-lifetime experience for aspiring young dancers. The Dance-with-Us program is entirely underwritten by 501c-3 Cultural Resources Foundation.
