Announcing Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker returning to Rochester at Mayo Civic Center on November 25 ~ Tickets On Sale April 24


The one and only Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker will be in Rochester on Thanksgiving Saturday, November 25, 3:00 pm matinee only at Mayo Civic Center. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 24. 

All ages are invited to celebrate Christmas with the Moscow Ballet company of almost 40 ballerinas and danseurs on their 25th Anniversary Tour of North America in 2017. Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker is known for its award-winning Principal Dancers, lavish costumes in the style of the Victorian era, many backdrops created by “La La Land’ Set Concept designer Carl Sprague, and its Russian focus including life-sized Matryoshka Dolls, Russian folk legends Ded Moroz (Father Christmas) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) and Troika Sleigh. Adults and children enjoy the special effects of the flapping winged owl on the Grandfather clock, the growing 50 ft tall Christmas Tree, the Dove of Peace with a 20ft wingspan, and of course, the leaps, spins, and extraordinary moves of the company all performed to Tchaikovsky’s complete and incomparable score.

Acclaim Studio of Dance opened in the fall of 2001 the first of its kind in this area!  The studio encourages the qualities of respect, teamwork, and love and discourages criticism, or showing favoritism. Acclaim Studio of Dance is family oriented and wishes to enrich each child’s life with a positive experience in the performing arts in an environment that is safe and respectful to students in regard to music, movements, and costumes.  Instruction is with proper technique and correct stretching. Teaching methods are new and creative and the skills taught at Acclaim are continually updated. Every student receives the same high-level of teaching and attention regardless of their goals. Students perform in a Christmas and spring recital, various community events, churches and also at a summer Musical Theater Camp in a musical production. Students are offered as many opportunities as possible, including:  summer dance camps, dance workshops, Cecchetti Ballet (this includes examinations for those interested).
