Announcing Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker coming to Lima at Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center on November 6 ~ Tickets On Sale Now


The one and only Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker will be in Lima on Monday, November 6, 7:00 pm at Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center. Tickets are on sale now. 

All ages are invited to celebrate Christmas with the Moscow Ballet company of almost 40 ballerinas and danseurs on their 25th Anniversary Tour of North America in 2017. Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker is known for its award-winning Principal Dancers, lavish costumes in the style of the Victorian era, many backdrops created by “La La Land’ Set Concept designer Carl Sprague, and its Russian focus including life-sized Matryoshka Dolls, Russian folk legends Ded Moroz (Father Christmas) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) and Troika Sleigh. Adults and children enjoy the special effects of the flapping winged owl on the Grandfather clock, the growing 50 ft tall Christmas Tree, the Dove of Peace with a 20ft wingspan, and of course, the leaps, spins, and extraordinary moves of the company all performed to Tchaikovsky’s complete and incomparable score.

Lima area Ballet Students called to Audition for Moscow Ballet’s Alisa Bolotnikova August 22 at Host Studio Lyn's Academy of Dance

Lima area ballet students ages 7 to 17 are invited to audition on Tuesday, August 22, 4:30pm for Moscow Ballet Soloist and Audition Director Alisa Bolotnikova at Host Dance Studio Lyn's Academy of Dance, 101 Pioneer Road Elida, OH 45807. 

This Moscow Ballet audition is open to students from dance studios across the city with a minimum one year of ballet training. Successful auditionees perform side-by-side with the Moscow Ballet company in roles which were created exclusively for their age and skill levels such as Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Snow Maidens and more. Ballerina Alisa will lead the young dancers at dress rehearsal with the Russian company the day of the performance. This is often a once-in-a-lifetime experience for aspiring young dancers. Since 1994 Lyn’s Academy of Dance has provided comprehensive dance training to both the pre-professional and recreational dancer in the greater Lima area. Lyn’s Academy of Dance is known for its high standard in quality dance training. Studioinstructors have years of experience as teachers and choreographers and are college graduates in dance. It is important that the student dancers are challenged and flourish both physically and mentally. We want each dancer to reach their full potential and gain an appreciation for the art of dance. The studio provides a home for both the professionally oriented dancer and the recreational dancer.
