Announcing Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker returning to Lake Charles Civic Center on November 10 ~ Tickets On Sale Now.


The one and only Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker will be in Lake Charles on Friday, November 10, 7:00 pm at Lake Charles Civic Center.

All ages are invited to celebrate Christmas with the Moscow Ballet company of almost 40 ballerinas and danseurs on their 25th Anniversary Tour of North America in 2017. Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker is known for its award-winning Principal Dancers, lavish costumes in the style of the Victorian era, many backdrops created by “La La Land’ Set Concept designer Carl Sprague, and its Russian focus including life-sized Matryoshka Dolls, Russian folk legends Ded Moroz (Father Christmas) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) and Troika Sleigh. Adults and children enjoy the special effects of the flapping winged owl on the Grandfather clock, the growing 50 ft tall Christmas Tree, the Dove of Peace with a 20ft wingspan, and of course, the leaps, spins, and extraordinary moves of the company all performed to Tchaikovsky’s complete and incomparable score.

Lake Charles area Ballet Students called to Audition for Moscow Ballet Ballerina Sunday, August 6 at Host Studio Sarah Quinn Jones School of Ballet

Lake Charles area ballet students ages 7 to 17 are invited to audition on Sunday August 6, 1:30pm for Moscow Ballet's Maria Morari at Host Dance Studio: Sarah Quinn Jones School of Ballet, 1920 Ethel Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601.

This Moscow Ballet audition is open to students from dance studios across the city with a minimum one year of ballet training. Successful auditionees perform side-by-side with the Moscow Ballet company in the Great Russian Nutcracker in roles which were created exclusively for their age and skill levels such as Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Snow Maidens and more. Ballerina Maria Morari will lead the young dancers at dress rehearsal with the Russian company the day of the performance. This is often a once-in-a-lifetime experience for aspiring young dancers. Sarah Quinn Jones School of Ballet  offers classical ballet training for boys and girls ages three and up. Students learn classical ballet technique through enjoyable and instructive classes. The studio also offers creative movement classes for preschoolers and tap classes for student ages five and up. Students display what they have learned each year in the annual Spring Recital. The studio is a place where boys and girls can learn classical ballet in an enjoyable in instructive way. Ms. Sarah not only teaches students how to dance but also how to be committed and part of a team. The preschool class is all about fun and as the students grow up the classes focus more on developing the dancers' technique. Class sizes allow for each student to receive personal instruction.
