Announcing tickets on sale for Moscow Ballet’s celebrated Great Russian Nutcracker in Fort Myers at the Barbara B. mann Performing Arts Center on Wednesday December 28, 3:00pm matinee and 7:00pm eveing.

Direct from Russia to Fort Myers, the classic Great Russian Nutcracker will entertain the whole family this Christmas.   Experience the exceptional dancing of award-winning principal artists and a company of nearly 40 classically trained dancers. With a 60-foot growing Christmas tree; hand-made costumes by Resident Designer Arthur Oliver; stunning, hand-painted sets designed by Academy Award nominee Carl Sprague, Fort Myers audiences are sure to be delighted.  Moscow Ballet’s “Great Russian Nutcracker” receives critical acclaim in the over 100 cities they perform, from New York to Los Angeles, Miami to Fort Myers.

The production is dedicated to achieving world peace.  Act II is named “Land of Peace and Harmony” and features a rose-shooting cannon and stunning two-person “Dove of Peace” with a 20 foot wingspan.

Calling local student dancers to audition to perform side-by-side with the professional company in Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker in Ft Myers!

Calling local student dancers to audition to perform side-by-side with the professional company in Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker in Ft Myers!  The open auditions are Saturday, September 17, 2:00pm at Moscow Ballet’s local Host Dance Studio Angelic Academy of Dance, 27771 Tennessee Street, Bonita Springs, Florida 34135. Student dancers, boys and girls, ages 7 to 17 years, and who have at least one year of ballet training, may audition for ancillary roles such as Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Angels and more. The auditions are free, there may be a casting fee. Moscow Ballet Soloist and Audition Director Lana Popova will rehearse the local children in person in Ft Myers October 16 to 19.  The selected children will perform in the Great Russian Nutcracker December 28 at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Center. Angelic Academy offers students dance and various forms of performing arts providing fun and rewarding activities and helping students grow as individuals. Instructors provide positive reinforcement to help students develop their talents. Owner Lara Demetriades has a life-long passion for the arts and studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, tap, baton, vocal, drama and modeling. She has over 40 years of performing, directing and teaching experience and has directed many award winning teams, soloists and title winners at regional, national and international levels. At Angelic Academy there are programs and classes for all ages and levels and the staff is trained to use positive reinforcement along with correct technique to bring out the best in each student.

The Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall is located on the campus of Edison State College. It regularly hosts college and community events, as well as theater and dance productions, concerts, and more. The Hall is also home to the annual Edison Pops Concert Series.
