Announcing Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker Coming to Evansville at Old National Events Plaza Aiken Theatre on December 14 ~ Tickets On Sale Now.

The one and only Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker will premiere in Evansville on Thursday, December 14, 7:00 pm only at Old National Events Plaza's Aiken Theatre.

All ages are invited to celebrate Christmas with the Moscow Ballet company of almost 40 ballerinas and danseurs on their 25th Anniversary Tour of North America in 2017. Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker is known for its award-winning Principal Dancers, lavish costumes in the style of the Victorian era, many backdrops created by “La La Land’ Set Concept designer Carl Sprague, and its Russian focus including life-sized Matryoshka Dolls, Russian folk legends Ded Moroz (Father Christmas) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) and Troika Sleigh. Adults and children enjoy the special effects of the flapping winged owl on the Grandfather clock, the growing 50 ft tall Christmas Tree, the Dove of Peace with a 20ft wingspan, and of course, the leaps, spins, and extraordinary moves of the company all performed to Tchaikovsky’s complete and incomparable score.

Evansville and Area Ballet Students Called to Audition for Moscow Ballet’s Alisa Bolotnikova on October 23 at Studio 321

Evansville and area ballet students ages 6 to 18 are invited to audition on Monday, October 23, 5:00 pm for Moscow Ballet Soloist and Audition Director Alisa Bolotnikova at Studio 321, 321 N. Congress Avenue, Evansville, IN 47715. The Moscow Ballet audition is open to students from dance studios across the city with a minimum one year of ballet training.

Ballerina Alisa Bolotnikova will lead auditions and rehearse the young dancers in their assigned roles. Successful auditionees perform side-by-side with the Moscow Ballet company in the Great Russian Nutcracker in roles that were created exclusively for their age and skill levels such as Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Snow Maidens and more. Alisa Bolotnikova also leads the young dancers at dress rehearsal with the Russian company the day of the performance. This is often a once-in-a-lifetime experience for aspiring young dancers. The Dance-with-Us program is in its 25th year of auditioning and rehearsing student dancers in each tour city to perform with the professional company. Auditions are free, there may be a casting fee. Studio 321 was created by Ellen and Kenny Harpole in 2014 for the purpose of bringing excellence in dance and theater to the Evansville area. The school’s goal is to provide a positive experience for students of all ages in a comfortable and safe environment.  The location is convenient, just off the Lloyd expressway behind Eastland Mall. Studio 321 primarily serves The Ballet Academy at Studio 321, bringing world-class ballet training to the tri-state area. Both pre-professional students and recreational students are welcome. The dance floors are specifically engineered for dancer safety, and classes are offered 6 days per week.
