The 20th Anniversary production of Moscow Ballet's acclaimed Great Russian Nutcracker includes brand new “Dove of Peace” choreography in which 2 dancers become one soaring bird with a 20 foot wing span! The new choreography is inspired Stanislov Vlasov’s work. Vlasov was a former Bolshoi Ballet dancer and choreographer/ballet master of Moscow Ballet’s first Great Russian Nutcracker in 1993. The 20th Anniversary production also features a Christmas tree that grows to 7 stories tall; falling snow and Troika sleigh escorted by Russian folk characters Ded Moroz (Father Christmas) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden); 200 all new, hand-sewn costumes designed by Shakespearean designer Arthur Oliver; and more!
And did you know that you can meet the dancers? The Platinum Experience is limited to just 10 of the best seats in the house and includes a personal Meet & Greet with Moscow Ballet soloists and MB Gear, too. VIP ticket packages also include the best seats and a Souvenir Bundle of logoed MB Gear. Group Discounts for 10 or more tickets are available and Single tickets are on sale now in most cities on the tour, as well. Now is the time to get the best seats to guarantee your holiday experience in 2012!

Over 20 years of touring the Great Russian Nutcracker has featured acclaimed and award-winning Russian ballerinas and danseurs. From choreographer, balletmaster and former Bolshoi soloist Stanislov Vlasov and partner Lilia Sabitova, People’s Artist of Russia, in 1993; to former Bolshoi Ballet dancer Marina Alexandrova and Vitaly Zabelin in 1996; IBC Gold Medalists Dmitri Dmitriev and Anna Dorosh in 1997; danseur, Perm graduate and upstart choreographer Anatolie Emelianov and Honored Artist of Russia Tatiana Predenia in 2002; Varna IBC Gold Medalists Cristina and Alexei Terentiev in 2009; acclaimed by the press Alexandra Elagina and Anatolie Ustimov in 2010 and award winning Karyna Shatkovskaya and Vladimir Tkachenko in 2011, the dancing is among the best in the world!
For 20 years ballet novices and aficionados; family members from the youngest to the most senior; and from New York to California and Syracuse to San Antonio have returned again and again to see 40 striking Russian dancers bring the holiday classic to life. Look for coming announcement of this year’s principal artists.
