Thank you for a wonderful 20th Anniversary year! 100 performances, in November and December: sold-out multiple shows across the country, from Washington DC to Los Angeles, Chicago to Ft. Myers. The tour also received artistic recognition…Honored Artists of Ukraine Olga Kifyak and Viktor Shcherbakov were invited to speak at the National Press Club in Washington DC, and multi award-winning West principals Karyna Shatkovskaya and Vladimir Tkachenko were praised in the press, including the St. Paul (Minnesota) Pioneer Press.... “[Karyna]'s a lithe, smoothly flowing ballerina who dominated every scene she graced.”
We are also proud to say that three of Moscow Ballet’s education programs engaged over 9,000 children across North America this year! 1) President Obama visited daughter Sasha, who performed as a mouse in Moscow Ballet's ‘Dance with Us’ program that puts student dancers on stage dancing side-by-side with the 40 professionals. Moscow Ballet works with a Host Dance Studio in almost every city in order to provide this opportunity to local ballet students, some studios have been with the tour for the full 20 years. A big shout-out to the many hours of work and dedication to our 50 dance Host Dance Studios. Click to see photos from North Charleston (SC)'s auditions this fall. 2) 6,000 school kids each spent a week of immersion in ‘New Horizons: A Children’s Program for Life.’
Were you one of the 2,000+ who attend one of the 23 free “Meet the Masters” events, co-partnered by Moscow Ballet and Capezio?
Also in 2012, Moscow Ballet partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) to raise funds at local children’s hospitals. Ballerinas visited hospitalized children, Svetlana Todinova was invited to a photo shoot with founders Donny and Marie Osmond, and Natalia Miroshnyk graced the Dallas Tea Party.
This winter we will offer contests with very special prizes, add videos and slide shows to the web site, set up Summer Intensives and New Horizons programs in a city near you and prepare for the 2013 season! www.nutcracker.com |

The interactive program develops children’s confidence, coordination, and creativity, and provides a world-class performance experience while working one-on-one with Moscow Ballet soloists! A super opportunity for non-dancing kids across the country. 3)
Seven super talented young musicians accompanied a Moscow Ballet principal dancer in this classic ballet adagio prior to Great Russian Nutcracker performances.
Moscow Ballet’s Olga Aru shares, “It was difficult to see those small babies that sick...at least we brought some positive moments in their lives.” CMNH touches the lives of 17 million children and their families every year, more families than any other children's charity.
