Critically acclaimed; the NY Times’ Alastair Macaulay says, “The Russian ballet style is elegant, expansive” and “Christmas without The Nutcracker? Unimaginable. Christmas with the Moscow Ballet? Sublime.” says the Sioux City Journal. In San Diego Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker stars principal artists Cristina Terentiev as Masha/Clara and Alexei Terentiev as the Nutcracker Prince. Spectacular scenic design, sumptuous costumes, and the exquisite artistry of 40 top Russian artists have made the Great Russian Nutcracker an American holiday tradition not to be missed. With its unique setting in Act II of the "Land of Peace and Harmony”, the Great Russian Nutcracker entertains with new characters and larger-than-life puppets, all set against a stunning backdrop of unicorns, exotic birds and animals. An ethereal Dove, a messenger of peace, leads Masha and the Nutcracker to the peaceful kingdom. Beloved Russian fairytale characters, Ded Moroz/Father Christmas and Snegurochka/Snow Maiden, add to the outstanding dancing and whimsical and imaginative storytelling that sets this Nutcracker apart.
About Snoopy’s Home Ice - The arena has a long history of bringing performers to Sonoma County and we are delighted to be the welcoming sponsor for the Moscow Ballet and to be part of a new holiday tradition in our community. Between 1986 and 2003, the ice arena was host to Charles Schulz’s "Holiday Ice Shows". The rink continues to honor Mr. Schulz’s legacy and during December the complex is transformed into a winter wonderland complete with a 25 foot tree at center ice. There is a tree lighting ceremony and skating exhibitions starring Snoopy to kick off the festive season. Often called the most beautiful ice arena in the world, Snoopy’s Home Ice offers a unique atmosphere for families to enjoy recreational ice skating and a world-class facility to support the goals of local athletes in the sports of Ice Hockey and Figure Skating. Home to the Warm Puppy Café and Snoopy’s Gallery & Gift Shop, the arena complex is also a popular destination for Peanuts fans from across the globe. Snoopy’s Home Ice is located at 1667 W Steele Lane, Santa Rosa, California, 95403. For more information go to the arena website at: www.snoopyshomeice.com
