Critically acclaimed dancing features Andre Litvinov’s bold choreography and stunning Russian sets and costumes
(Berkshires, MA) Apr 29, 2014 - Moscow Ballet’s all new production of Romeo and Juliet premieres in select cities on the 2014 North American tour: Orlando FL, San Juan PR and Santa Ynez CA. This is Moscow Ballet’s second consecutive season performing full length Russian classics in addition to the Great Russian Nutcracker due to public demand.
The epic story ballet features bold choreography by Ballet Master Andre Litvinov and is set to the famous score of Russian composer Pytor I. Tchaikovsky. Litvinov, a graduate of the preeminent Bolshoi Academic Choreographic College, aka the Bolshoi School, later became Principal Artist of Moldova’s State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in capitol Kishinev. Litvinov choreographed the new production drawing from his experiences dancing for legendary Yuri Grigorovich and modernist, fellow Moldovan and personal friend Radu Poklitaru. Litvinov is an honored Laureate of International Ballet Competition (IBC) Romania 1996; Grigorovich IBC 2000; Danovsky IBC and the Diagelev Prize. Moscow Ballet’s “Romeo and Juliet” features a full company of forty impeccably trained Russian dancers.
