The 20th Anniversary production of the acclaimed Great Russian Nutcracker includes unique new “Dove of Peace” choreography in which 2 dancers become one soaring bird. The new choreography is inspired by work of Stanislov Vlasov, former Bolshoi Ballet dancer and choreographer/ballet master of Moscow Ballet’s inaugural 1993 Great Russian Nutcracker production. The 20th Anniversary production also features a Christmas tree that grows to 7 stories tall; falling snow and Troika sleigh escorted by Russian folk characters Ded Moroz (Father Christmas) and Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) to their Ice Palace in the Land of Peace and Harmony; 200 all new, hand-sewn costumes designed by Shakespearean designer Arthur Oliver; and more. For more information go to www.nutcracker.com. Tickets for the 2012 tour are on sale in now! Find a performance in a city near you: www.nutcracker.com/your-city.

Capezio–125 years ago Salvatore Capezio opened a shop on Broadway and created his hand-made pointe shoes–a challenging balance between delicate construction and complex engineering. When Russian Prima Ballerina Anna Pavlova purchased Capezio pointe shoes for her company in 1910, dancers from around the world also visited and purchased his shoes. Today Capezio continues to value and support the world-wide dance community offering the highest quality dance shoes, dance wear and street wear internationally. www.capeziodance.com.

For 20 years Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker performances have introduced the finest Russian ballerinas and danseurs to audiences across North America. From former Bolshoi soloist Stanislov Vlasov and partner Lilia Sabitova in 1993 to danseur and upstart choreographer Anatolie Emelianov and Honored Artist of Russia Tatiana Predenia in 2002; IBC Gold Medalists Cristina and Alexei Terentiev in 2006; and acclaimed partners Alexandra Elagina and Anatolie Ustimov in 2010 to name a few. From the press: “Bold and vital” Virginian-Pilot (1994); “Delight to watch” Washington Post (1996); "Whimsical, charming, vibrant classical style” New York Times (2002); “Aristocratic finesse” Cleveland Plain Dealer (2010); “Brimful with feeling…expansive” Chief Dance Critic, New York Times (2010); and “Sheer splendor and elegant dancing” Baltimore Sun (2011).
