(Berkshires, MA) Sept 16, 2011Moscow Ballet's Kissy Doll invited to appear at NYC Fashion week’s debut of “Premium Lounge Signed by INDASHIO” Tuesday, September 13 at the Audi Forum, 250 Park Avenue. Runway celebrities included Olympic Skater Johnny Weir, NY Giants’ Plaxico Burress, Matt Barnes of the Los Angeles Lakers, CariDee English voted America’s Next Top Model and others. The CONCEPT NEW YORK runway show featuring designer INDASHIO featured classic pieces of the new Men’s Premium Lounge signed by INDASHIO SPRING/SUMMER 2012 Collection. Moscow Ballet’s Kissy Doll made an appearance in the spectacular, hand-made signature costume.

Kissy Doll costume was designed by theatrical designer Dennis Ballard in 2000 for Moscow Ballet which premiered that year with dancers of the GITIS Institute in Moscow. It is used for the adult-sized doll that is brought to life by Uncle Drosselmeyer in Act I of the Great Russian Nutcracker, and was created with the traditional ribbon candy in mind that is enjoyed by many each holiday season. The bodice is woven from almost 100 yards of decorator ribbon. 30 yards of tulle make up the tutu skirt. The costume is the heaviest one in the production weighing 9 to 10 pounds, about one tenth the weight of the ballerina wearing it. The tutu itself consists of two pieces; the ribbon ruff which sits on 14 layers of hand-sewn, double pleated tulle with two rows of wired hooping below. It is one of the most spectacular tutu designs made and has been imitated by many ballet companies since. This is one of 200 costumes that travel to 60 cities for the annual tour, see more at

Johhny Weir loves all things Russian and loved meeting Kissy Doll at the Indashio show at NYC Fashion Week. He is a self-proclaimed Russophile who admires the skating style and culture of Russia and taught himself to speak and read the language. Olympic skater Weir trains with Russian coach Galina Zmievskaya and has an asteroid named after him, discovered by T. Kryachko, at the suggestion of his Russian fans.

Designer INDASHIO unveiled his first spring/summer 2012 Men’s RTW collection September 13. The new collection dubbed as the “Premium Lounge signed by Indashio” is the designer’s first RTW men’s line. The collection features a nautical New England inspired theme, effortlessly wearable staple polo shirts, parachute shorts, beautifully constructed jackets fused with INDASHIO’s bright colors and bold runway-ready feel.

Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker tells the beloved Christmas story of the girl who falls in love with a Nutcracker Prince – with Russian flair. Praised by the NY Times Chief Dance Critic as “thrilling and expansive” and “elegant…brimful with feeling” the 40 impeccably trained Russian dancers leap, spin and lunge bringing the traditional story to life. The Act I Christmas party enchants with its magical toys, evil Mouse King and a journey through the glittering Snow Forest. Unique to the Great Russian Nutcracker, Russian folk characters Father Christmas and the Snow Maiden escort Masha (aka Clara) to the Land of Peace and Harmony in Act II where she and the Nutcracker Prince are honored by emissaries from heritages the world over; African, Russian, Asian, European and Hispanic. Set to Pytor Tchaikovsky’s famous score, Moscow Ballet’s production features lavish costumes, nine hand-painted backdrops with 3-D ornamentation and fanciful, larger-than-life puppets designed by Russian puppet master Valentin Federov. A must see show for everyone in the family this holiday season! Tickets are now on sale at

Moscow Ballet - History
Presented and produced by Akiva Talmi Presents, Moscow Ballet is known for its annual, touring Great Russian Nutcracker and full-length productions of the classic story-ballets; Swan Lake, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and others. Created by award-winning Juilliard alumnus, composer/conductor and theatrical producer, Akiva Talmi, the organization evolved out of Talmi’s all-star Russian "Glasnost Festival Tour" (1986-92). Moscow Ballet made its debut in 1993 with the Great Russian Nutcracker which was directed and choreographed by soloist Stanislav Vlasov of the famous Russian Bolshoi Theatre. In 1994, Moscow Ballet invited the Moscow State Theatre of Natalia Sats, and the theatre's full orchestra, to expand the company to an 88-artist tour which was billed as the "19th Century Classical Nutcracker." In 2003, Moscow Ballet announced the appointment of Anatoly Emelianov, winner of the Diagelev award, and Vladimir Troshchenko, director of Odessa State Ballet and a pivotal figure in the ballet world, as co-artistic directors. Moscow Ballet continues to feature top graduates of Perm, Vaganova, Moscow State Academic Choreographic and Kiev schools in its productions.
