TESTIMONY ~ Thank you for all that you have done to make the Moscow Ballet event happen. Wow! Svetlana did a great job with the students. Parents have told me that it is all their children would talk about when they picked them up from school. I wish you could have seen the eyes of the children and could have heard the squeals and applause. Please know how much everyone in our school district appreciates this marvelous experience. Svetlana is definitely a superstar in the eyes of our students and staff. Eleanor Powers, Director Ellis Performing Arts Center, Latta Schools, Latta SC

PROGRAM ~ Moscow Ballet’s ‘New Horizons: A Children’s Program for Life’ is a once- in-a-lifetime opportunity providing thousands of children cultural immersion, personal role modeling with the highly trained Russian dancers and a world class performance experience. During the day-long or week-long immersion sessions, children participate in movement and creative expression workshops. They develop positive self-imaging, healthy lifestyle habits and a personal understanding of the contributions they can make to their communities. Most recently Moscow Ballet’s Svetlana Todinova worked one-on-one with over 500 children for 4 to 18 years old in Latta S.C.’s public school system. Click to read more about that 2 day event.

PERFORMANCE ~ Experiencing Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker performance is an integral part of the New Horizon experience. It opens children’s awareness to the fantastic physical prowess of the dancers and the celebration of peace and cultural diversity in the ballet. Experiencing the aesthetics of the world class Great Russian Nutcracker performance takes the children to a new place in their minds, a place where imagination becomes real, and it empowers their sense of self and will.

NEEDS ASSESSMENT ~ New Horizons combats obstacles that hinder children’s healthy development such as inadequate funding for the arts in American schools and lack of exposure to world class cultural events. In addition, recent studies suggest that kids spend close to 25% of their waking hours, in front of an electronic screen and that 49% of all school age children are significantly overweight. Intolerance of others and direct anti-social behavior is another aspect of an unhealthy lifestyle 90% of the students in grades 4-8 reported being bullied.

CONTACT ~ New Horizons can be experienced as a “Day of Immersion” and a “Week of Immersion” and be can be arranged for schools, after-care programs, clubs and other organizations. JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING or 800.320.1733 x21.
