Moscow Ballet is excited to perform the Christmas classic in your community. Casting an average 50 children in 50 cities over the past 20 years, yields 50,000 valuable interactions for the next generation of dancers!

2012 is the 20th annual casting call for student dancers from 50 North American cities to perform in the Great Russian Nutcracker and other Moscow Ballet productions. Those selected perform alongside acclaimed principals, and in 2012 they are Alexandra Elagina, NY Times “Brimful with feeling,” and 10 time award-winning Olga Kifyak.

The experience of working and performing with professional dancers is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring dancers. Children’s roles include Party Children, Mice, Angels, Butterflies, Snowflakes and more.

Moscow Ballet’s Audition Directors fly into each city on the tour in the fall to conduct auditions and to work one-on-one with students in rehearsals. Moscow Ballet Audition Directors in 2012 are Svetlana Todinova, Olga Aru and Nataliya Miroshnyk.
