West Coast Tour Features IBC Gold Medal Soloists, Begins Thursday, 11-4 in Surrey, BC, Canada
The holiday season is fast approaching… and so is the start of Moscow Ballet’s annual Great Russian Nutcracker performance tour! Now in its 18th season, the west coast leg of the tour kicks off Thursday in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.
West coast audiences are in for a real treat, too, the tour features two award winning principal dancers—Alexei and Cristina Terentiev.

Cristina, who earned a gold medal from the International Ballet Competitions (IBC) Varna (the top such competition worldwide) is, in addition to her work with Moscow Ballet, a leading ballerina with the Moldavian National Opera and Ballet Theater.
She is also a former principal dancer with the Atlantic Ballet Theater in Canada. Along with Great Russian Nutcracker, her repertoire includes Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Giselle, La Sylphide, Chopiniana, La Fille Mal Gardee, Paquita and Coppelia.
Alexei, similar to his wife, is a multiple award winning ballet dancer, also a soloist with the Moldavian National Opera and Ballet Theatre when not with Moscow Ballet. His repertoire includes Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Giselle, La Sylphide, Chopiniana, La Fille Mal Gardee, Paquita and Coppelia.
As a couple, the Terentievs were awarded Gold Medals from the IBC for “Best Partnership” and “Best Original Contemporary Choreography.” In Great Russian Nutcracker, Cristina and Alexei each bring their unique, unparalleled heritage to life on stage, alongside 40 other professional and highly talented ballet dancers.
