Vladimir Tkachenko (Central Tour)

Vladimir Tkachenko stars as the Nutcracker Prince in Moscow Ballet’s 25th Anniversary Tour of the Great
Russian Nutcracker and Swan Lake in the U.S. and Canada. Hailing from Kharkov, Ukraine Vladimir
graduated with honors from the Perm Choreographic School, known as the third best Ballet Academy in
the world, in the class of V. Alikina. There is a long-standing tradition of collaboration with directors and
choreographers from the west at the Perm school due to projects with the George Balanchine Foundation
and the Jerome Robbins Foundation in the U.S. The repertoire of the theatre in Perm includes
masterpieces of the most distinguished choreographers of the 20th Century. Upon graduation, Vladimir
was offered a position at the State Kremlin Ballet of Moscow and made his professional debut in La
Esmeralda as the Hunchback Quasimodo.

Two years later Vladimir was invited to become Soloist in the Kharkov National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet performing and rehearsing under the direction of People's Artist of Ukraine S.Kolyvanova and Honored Artist of the USSR M. Bezzubikovym. There he danced the principal role in Nutcracker, Coppelia, Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and A Thousand and One Nights.He has been a Guest Soloist of the Imperial Ballet under the direction of Taranda, and of the Russian International Ballet under the direction of Honored Artist of Russia Igor Surnevoy. He has toured to almost all continents of the world including Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America. In 2011 he debuted with Moscow Ballet as Nutcracker Prince in the Great Russian Nutcracker.
