Introducing Principal Danseur Oleksii Potiomkin, hailing from the historic and acclaimed L’viv National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, named after Solomeya Krushelnitskaya, in L’viv as Principal Danseur, and premiering with Moscow Ballet for the 25th Anniversary Tour of North America. Potiomkin performs as Nutcracker Prince and in the French Variation. He has also performed as First Soloist with Canada`s Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Ochi International Ballet, Nagoya, Japan. Oleksii has performed all of the ballet world’s major and historic Principal Roles: Don Quixote as Basil, La Bayadere as Solor, Giselle as Albert, Le Corsair as Konrad, Slave and Pas D’Esclaves, Swan Lake as Prince Seigfried, Rothbart, and Pas de Trois, Great Russian Nutcracker as Prince, Rat King, Spanish and FrenchVariations, Sleeping Beauty as Prince Charming, Cat, and Wolf, Francesca da Rimini as Paolo, Hamlet as Laertes, La Fille Mal Gardee as Collas and Dankevych, Lileya as Stepan, Legend of Love as Ferkhad, Coppelia as Franz, Paquita as Soloist, Esmeralda as Claude Frollo, Walpurgis Night as Wakh, Carmen as Escamillio, Carmina Burana as Soloist, Flame of Paris as Pas de Deux and Raimonda as Soloist Grand Pas. Olekseii has toured around the world including Japan, Canada, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Romunia, Portugal, France, and Hungary in these classic performances.
In addition to a complete performance repertoire, Oleksii has also achieved remarkable success in ballet competitions. He won Silver at the III Istanbul International Ballet Competition in 2012; Bronze at the 2006 International Ballet Competition named after Serge Lifar, Kiev, Ukraine and received a Diploma of Distinction at the International Junior Competition “Artek Fuete” named after Grigorovich. Oleksii trained at the Kiev State Choreographic School and upon graduation was invited to the Kiev State Ukrainian Academy of Dance named after Serge Lifar, finishing his formal training in 2011 at the International Slavic University in Kharkov.
