(BERKSHIRES, MA) Mar 24, 2011 - Tickets are on sale in Detroit for a Sunday, December 11,
3:00pm matinee performance of Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker at the Fox Theatre.
This holiday performance premieres alternating pairs of award-winning principal dancers as
Masha (aka Clara) and the Nutcracker Prince as well as a corps of 30 plus impeccably trained
Russian dancers, most of whom have not performed in the US.

Local Dance Instructor, Andrea Redman

Andrea Redmanhas been the director and owner of her own studio, Andrea Redman Dance Academy since August 2005. She has been teaching all disciplines of dance for 17 years and dancing for over 30 years. Andrea has been on the faculty of the famed Steps on Broadway in NYC, Rebecca Kelly Kids Co-Motion (NYC) and many other schools in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Michigan. She danced professionally in NYC with the Eglevsky Ballet, Tatiana Cabaret Show and Notara Dance Theatre and also with the Richmond Ballet, Ballet Theatre Pennsylvania and the Russian Ballet Theatre of Delaware. Andrea also toured nationally in The Nutcracker and other productions.

She has been the rehearsal director of the children’s cast for the Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker at the Fox Theatre, Fisher Theatre and the Masonic Temple, all in Detroit. Her students have been accepted to and received scholarships to many prestigious programs including the Juilliard School, the School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet School and Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, to name a few.

Local Dance Instructor, Beth Perry
Beth Perry earned her M.A. in American Dance Studies from Florida State University and her B.A. in History with a specialization in Dance from Michigan State University. Since receiving her Masters, she has taught ballet history at the American Ballet Theatre's summer intensive program in Detroit and danced with stb dance in Men Dance Michigan. While at FSU, Beth danced in Days of Dance, Awaken and Shift, an MFA Concert, and represented FSU at the American College Dance Festival. She also had the opportunity to study with Suzanne Farrell, Jowale Willa Jo Zolar, Dan Wagoner, Sheila Humphreys, Lynda Davis and Geri Houlihan at FSU. Beth has performed with MoreDances Contemporary Dance Company based in Troy, Michigan and also in Bravo, Bravo!, an annual fundraiser for the Detroit Opera House. While at MSU she performed with the Dance Repertory Company, Orchesis, and in the MSU School of Music’s production of Orpheus and The Underworld. She was also on the executive board for Orchesis, the student dance group. She is currently working in arts education as the Grants and Contracts Manager for Living Arts, while teaching ballet at Flex Point Performing Arts Center in Farmington Hills.
