Newspapers in Education
Moscow Ballet Supports Newspapers in Education Moscow Ballet is proud of its eleven year partnership with the Newspapers in Education Program. Newspapers in Education provides free newspapers to students at all grade levels. Research shows that students who have regular access to newspapers develop better reading, writing, verbal and math skills. Moscow Ballet supports this program as part of our ongoing commitment to literacy. Letters from Students: Testimonials from Educators:
"Thank you for providing Newspapers in Education for my fourth grade class at Ernest Stapelton Elementary School. We get the newspapers every Friday and have learned so much from using them. Not only do we use them for activities such as finding parts of speech, compound words, and contractions, but we also use them for art projects and collages. They are a big help in the classroom, and the children look forward to them every week. We appreciate your sponsorship so that we are able to participate in the Newspapers in Education project." - Claudia Gerard, Special Education Teacher, Stapelton Elementary School, Rio Rancho, NM. "Thank you for the newspapers your company generously contributed to the Ruidoso High School Success Skills Class. The supplies were an important factor in a profitable and constructive semester portfolio project as well as allowing the class to increase reading skills and dissect articles. Not only were the students provided with the necessary materials for the portfolio but they were shown another important lesson as well: that of altruistic community service. Your kind example will remain with them long after the supplies you provided have been exhausted." -Dr. Paul Worth, Associate Superintendent, Ruidoso High School, Ruidoso, NM. "The students and staff of Freedom High School want to thank you and the Moscow Ballet for sponsoring Newspapers in Education. Having the daily newspapers in classrooms allows our students to stay current about what is happening in the world and many classes use it as a resource in writing reports. Again, I thank you and your organization for supporting education." -Mary C. Sullivan, Principal, Freedom High School, Albuquerque, NM.
