A Leap into Literacy

As a dedicated innovator in providing educational and literacy programs, Moscow Ballet is the proud publisher of two children's books "The Great Russian Nutcracker" and "Tales of Classical Ballet".  These artistic and unique books are incorporated in Moscow Ballet's Swan Lake Summer Program and have been donated to various educational programs and organizations such as the Reach Out and Read National Center, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, Chicago Children's Museum, and The Reading Tub.

In 2005, Moscow Ballet featured its "Tales of Classical Ballet" at a variety of Barnes and Noble. During its story time event, local children were able to meet and have their picture taken with a Moscow Ballet Russian soloist. The rave reviewed "Tales of Classical Ballet" and "The Great Russian Nutcracker" children's books can be purchased  at selected Barnes and Noble or on-line at www.moscowballetstore.com.

Moscow Ballet's Russian soloist Ecaterina Cupcinova with local children during its
Barnes and Noble story time event.

What a beautiful book for all ages! "Tales of Classical Ballet" showcases ten popular productions with glorious illustrations and simple descriptions of the plot. The stories are well written and made me want to see the ballets as soon as possible. Although this is a children's book, I believe this is a volume that a person of any age will enjoy because of the depth of the narration. I only wish that I had read this book when I was seven or eight. Maybe I'd be a ballerina today! Fabulous book-bravo! Buy it for everyone you know and let them enjoy the classics in full color.

The Reading Tub

"For an enchanting program, invite the Moscow Ballet to your storytime or
Children's Department event.  Parents and children alike will be
captivated by a visit from a real ballerina who will read The Nutcracker
from the Moscow Ballet book, Tales of Classical Ballet.  This event was
a highlight in our pre-holiday storytime programming"!
